Do you love to travel but are tired of meeting hordes of tourists every time you take a vacation? Here is my first list of some of the best places to travel that have not yet been taken over by tourists.
Namibia is one of the most beautiful countries in Africa. Its most striking feature is the Namib desert and its Atlantic ocean coastline. Namibia has sandy deserts, vast plains, tribal villages, picturesque beachside towns and German era colonial buildings, There are many national parks and you can find diverse wildlife here making Namibia one of the best destinations in 2016. May to September is the best time for wildlife safaris. If you love adventure then there is plenty here for you – 4X4 dune driving, dune boarding, dune hang gliding, kite and windsurfing and shark angling being some of the popular adventure activities. The country is also a hub for extreme sports such as ultra-triathlons and desert runs.
If you love the sea then Vanuatu is the place for you. An archipelago of nearly 80 islands in the South Pacific Ocean, Vanuatu is best visited from April to October. Amongst the best places to travel in 2016, the islands are a photographer’s delight and so are the local people. You can enjoy snorkeling, fishing, scuba diving, surfing and bungee jumping. However, the most exciting thing to do in Vanuatu is to take the hiking trail that ascends Mt. Yasur, an active volcano – an experience you are bound to remember forever. You can see the lava bubbling and the booming noises from the volcano are not for the faint hearted.
If you love the mountains then you simply cannot ignore Nepal. Home to Mt. Everest, the highest peak in the world, Nepal is also known for its beautiful monasteries and temples. Its natural beauty and friendly people make it one of the best places to travel. Adventure tourists come here during October to November which are the best months for trekking.Trekking, hiking, mountain biking, paragliding and hot air ballooning are some of the most popular activities here. You can also enjoy wildlife in the Terai region.
I hope this list inspires you to pack your bags and take an awesome vacation – your best trips have yet to come!
